Some Info about VICKI:

Where and when were you born? I was born in Caldwell, Idaho and lived on a small ranch until I was 9 years old in the mountains of Idaho just east of McCall.

What is your profession? I am a personal trainer, specializing in Senior Fitness and Sports Training, I also own a 24 hour card access gym.

Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training? I have always been involved in sports since the age of 5, bodybuilding was the next step after years of teaching aerobics, step aerobics and strength training. I love the sport of bodybuilding and see myself always involved in it in some way or form.

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? I started bodybuilding after seeing my first show "The Oregon Ironman" in 1998. I loved the look and new thats where I wanted to be so in 1999 I competed for the first time at the Oregon Ironman.

Can you give me your competition history? 2000- 3rd place Oregon Ironman masters, 2nd Place Bill Pearl masters. 2002-INBF NW Natural Bodybuilding Show 2nd place Novice Light, 2002 - 4th Place NW Bodybuilding Championships, 2003- 1st Place NW Natural Bodybuilding Championships Novice light, INBF NW Natural - 2nd place Open Lightweight, 2003 - November State Record for Benching, 2006 Oregon Ironman 1st Place Open Middle Weight and 4th Place Masters, 2006 Oregon Bodybuilding Championships 4th Place Open Lightweight and 5th Place Masters.

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? 2006 Oregon Ironman, it was my come back after three years off and a horrible accident the fall before that. I made a huge come back.

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.) Off season- 6 days a week strength training~ first three days pyramid heavy to negatives last three days light workout high reps. Contest~ 6 days a week weight training moderate to heavy and high reps ~ cardio 2 x's a day at a minimum of one hour each.

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? Favorite exercise would be working legs- hate to do lunges!

Which body part is your best in your opinion? My back.
If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?
Stats- Bench 215 max lift, leg press 1,000 lat pulldowns 200lbs. Body measurements
Biceps 15, waist 28, Thighs 22, Calves 15.
What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'? Training for competition would be getting lean. Off season not having to be so strict with diet and having the strength to lift heavy again.

Please describe a typical day in the life of Vicki Combest. I get up at 1:45am get to the gym by 2am to start cardio, 3:30am start my weight training finish at 4:45am then go tan. Home by 5:30am to eat and shower back to the gym to train clients at 6:30am, I am working with 3 high school graduates that need to be prepared for college football so donate time to help them prep until 9am- then train clients all day take care of the gym cleaning and errands. 4pm I do my final cardio for the day, by 5pm go home fix meals for the next day and go to bed. That is my day pretty much for the past 3 months.

Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.) I love to ride quads, I have a bombardier DS650 thats been modified and I race that during the summer, I love to hike spend time on the beach and go to Hawaii to visit my dad every Thanksgiving. I donate a lot of time to the kids here in helping them learn proper training techniques and also help the seniors.

What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? The sport and the companionship and friends I have made along the way.

Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear. I am to the point and honest.

What are your competition goals or personal future goals? Competition goals would be to win at the Emerald Cup from there we shall see- personal goals are to get my gym up and running well and be able to help more people stay healthy.

Please note:

Vicki does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!!
