Where and when were you born?
I was born in Beirut Lebanon, in 1974
What is your profession?
I do consulting in Informations Systems Management.
Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to fitness and how did you get started with weight training?
I have always been active. I started ballet and horseback riding at the age of 4. I then did track in high school. I started weight training when I moved to the US and had no friends so I took up the gym.
Was it a goal for you to compete in fitness competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body?
Not at all..it just grew on me
Can you give me your competition history?
Here are some highlights, my full history is on fitdina.com
Jan Tana Pro Figure 2003 1st place
Figure Olympia 2003 5th place
GNC Show of Strength 2003 3rd place
Arnold Figure Championship 2004 7th place
Figure Olympia 2004 13th place
Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you?
Even though I won the Pro Figure Jan Tana in 2003 and was fifth in the Figure Olympia, I am most proud of my 3rd place at the GNC Show of Strength in 2003.
Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
Cardio 30min 4 times a week when in training I do cardio twice a day
What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? I love training legs, and I hate training biceps
Which body part is your best in your opinion?
If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?
I have no idea! I will take the measurements. My waist when in contest shape is 21 inches!
What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'?
When training I like the fact I have a set goal and know exactly what to eat without having to make any choices. I like the off season as it allows me to socialize with friends and enjoy good wine and good food in moderation.
Please describe a typical day in the life of Dina Al-Sabah.
I wake up, answer emails and prepare my food. I get to the gym around 10 for about 90 to 120 minutes of both cardio and weight lifting. I then return home, shower, answer email and get to work. Sometimes I work at home, others I have to go to the office. If I have to leave my house, I make sure to take my food with me. If I am in training, I go to the gym for my second cardio session after work. Once I get home I like to kick back and read the news online. I love reading BBC! I eat my last meal, shower and hop into bed!
Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.)
I love to read, cook, and embroider.
What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
I like eating healthy and the discipline that comes with staying in shape
Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear.
I love to bake!
What are your competition goals or personal future goals?
Not so sure... I take things one day at a time. Right now my goals are to grow FitDina.com, train hard and have fun.
Dina does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!!
