Some Info about GINGER:

Where and when were you born?
Born: Houston, Texas

What is your profession?
Personal trainer, actress, model

Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training?
I did not compete in sports in school. I grew up very active. I had a trampoline and loved to do outdoor activities. My first interest in bodybuilding came from my uncle who owned a gym in Kaplan, Louisiana. I started going to a gym at about 21-22 years old and starting doing aerobics classes and doing some machines. Then i saw a couple of ladies on the "weight" side of the gym and i liked the way they looked alot. Well come to find out one of the girls was about to compete and she helped me learned how to eat clean. The rest has been history.

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body?
I didnt think of competiting at first but everyone kept telling me I should.

Can you give me your competition history?
My first NPC show was in 2004 Sunshine Classic Figure 1st Place. then another 2004 NPC Hurricane Bay Figure Tall 4th place. 2005 NPC Lakeland Classic Figure 1st Place.
I didnt compete again until 2010 Branch Warren in Figure I placed 16th in over 35 and 7th in the Open figure.
I then realized that the figure girls shrunk and I wanted to gain size so I then competed in 2011 in the Texas State Pro/Am in Female Bodybuilding and placed 1st in Novice and 1st in Open.

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you?
My biggest success was my Texas State bodybuilding win. I loved doing a routine and I love to flex, rather than just stand there.

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
My training routine is 5 days a week, usually about 1 hour at a time. 2 days rest and that varies on how many days in between. day 1-back, day 2-bis, tris, day 3-
chest, shoulders day 4 legs. day 5: abs, calves and touching up on problem spots

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much?
Back is my favorit body part to work, my least favorite is legs

Which body part is your best in your opinion?
My best body part i think is my biceps

If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?
Measurments: 38, 26, 36. Best lifts is bent over rows 80lb dumbells

What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the off season'?
The thing i enjoy most about training for competition is it keeps me more focused. The off season Im able to "cheat" more.

Please describe a typical day in the life of Ginger Martin.
Get up get ready take daughter to school. Come back eat breakfast. Train clients, do errands, answer emails. I try to go to gym in early afternoon when i feel the best and the gym is less crowded, this enables me to focus better.

Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.)
I love to hang out with family/friends. I love the beach, i love to garden.

What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
I love the bodybuilding lifestyle since it allows me to try to mold myself into a better, stronger person each time I work out.

Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear.
I am a mother of 4 and a grandmother to 1.

What are your competition goals or personal future goals?
