Some Info about KRIS:

Where and when were you born? New Hartford, N.Y. May 6, 1962

What is your profession? Personal trainer-I truly love it!

Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training? Yes, tennis, softball, horse back riding, track. I went to the gym for the first time with a boyfriend. I started lifting and LOVED it immediately!

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? Yes, I wanted to get as strong and muscular as soon as possible .I was never afraid of becoming too muscular! I also knew that I’d want to compete as well right away!

Can you give me your competition history? My first show show was in 1983-the Can Am 4th place. Since then I’ve done many state shows in Texas including the Metroplex winning first in the women’s heavyweight, Lone Star Classic and Gold’s Gym Classic. I competed in the NPC Nationals in 1993 placing 12th. Nationals in 1997 winning first in the mixed pairs and 9th in the women’s heavyweight. I took 10 years off and in 2007 did the New Englands placing 3rd. Recently, I won the All South women’s heavyweight and over all and competed in the 2008 Nationals in Atlanta

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? The most meaningful contest was my 1st place mixed pair winning at ’97 Nationals as well the All South overall victory

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
I train with weights 5-6 days per week doing one body part a day. Off season I do 30 mins of cardio 4-5 days per week

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much?
I love squatting!! Training legs is probably my favourite. There really is no bodypart I don’t like to train!

Which body part is your best in your opinion? My best body parts are my back, chest and triceps.

If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)? Pre contest arms 15 inch, waist 28 inch, chest 40 inch, quads 21 ˝
My best bench press is 225 x 2, straight leg deadlift 245 x 8. I regularly squat 225 x 8

What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'?
I enjoy being really lean pre contest-I love being shredded!!

Please describe a typical day in the life of Kris Clark.
A typical day is getting up early for breakfast (I LOVE my breakfast!!)
Usually have a 6:30 a.m. client. With clients throughout the day. I train whenever my schedule allows.

Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.) I love playing tennis, riding horses, riding my bike outside with my German Shepherd dog, drawing, playing the flute and listening to a wide variety of music.

What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? I love the feeling of being powerful, strong, muscular, lean, healthy and mentally and physically capable of doing anything I choose to!

Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear. At the age of 39 years old, I began riding and racing motocross. My son began riding first. I watched and encouraged him for a while then I decided to try it! I loved it became hooked and actually won several championships against much younger girls as well as some men! I do most of the mechanical work on the bikes myself as well.

What are your competition goals or personal future goals? I am undecided about my future competition goals possibly masters nationals next year. My future goals are to continue to train very intensely remain strong, healthy and injury free!
