Some Info about CHRISTINE:

Where and when were you born? Chicago, Il. Oct. 8th, 1967

What is your profession? Registered nurse

What kind of activities/sports did you do before you started lifting weights? Modern jazz dance, softball

How and when did you get involved into lifting weights? My dance instructors told me i was too muscular to be a dancer, I always loved gymnastics but never got involved in it, when I was seventeen i saw a female bodybuilder on the beach and talked to her. She told me where to go, I got started from that point on.

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? I wanted to look like a bodybuilder I thought I would like to compete from the start

What was your first competition and how did you place? I competed in powerlifting first, I worked out at a powerlifting gym. I was the only female at the gym. I tried bodybuilding in 1994 and did the NPC Illinois State and won the middleweights and overall

And which contest has been the biggest success for you yet? Winning the 2004 Jr. Nationals has been the greatest achievement so far because I did the contest 3 times before I won it. It seemed to be the most challenging up to this point

Could you please add a history of all contests that you have entered so far? 1994 NPC Illinois State 1st middleweight/overall; 1994 NPC Mid-States Classic 1st middleweight;1999 NPC Western Regional 2nd middleweights; 1999 NPC Ironmaiden 3rd middleweight; 2000 NPC Ironmaiden 1st middleweights; 2002 NPC Jr. Nationals 14th heavyweights; 2003 NPC Jr. Nationals 10th middleweights; 2003 NPC Arizona State 1st heavyweight/overall; 2004 NPC Jr Nationals 1st light-heavyweights/overall; 2004 NPC USA'S 2nd light-heavyweights ; 2005 NPC USA's 6th light-heavyweights; 2006 NPC USA Championships 2nd light-heavyweights; 2007 NPC USA Championships 6th light-heavyweights; 2007 North American Championships 4th light-heavyweights; 2010 Nationals 5th light-heavyweights

2013 North American

Bodybuilding: Women - Masters Over 35 Light Heavyweight (1st)

Please describe a typical day in the life of Christine Sabo. Wake-up early and walk my three dogs, get food together and go to work in the operating room, after my shift off to the gym, get home around 7pm eat dinner and get ready to do it all again the next day: pretty basic ans simple

Please tell me something about your daily training routine. I train each bodypart once per week, cardio 3-4 days per week

How often do you train in a week? 5 days

What are the main differences when you train for a competition and in off-season? During show prep my cardio is increased

If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)? Bench press 225x5; military press 135x6; squat 275, arms 15 inches, calves 15 inches, quads 25 inches

Which bodypart is your best in your opinion? Shoulders and legs

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? I love to squat, cardio can become burdensome pre-contest

Judging in Women’s Bodybuilding has always been criticised in one or the other way. Please tell me your honest thoughts about today’s judging in Women’s Bodybuilding. I feel the judging is where it should be: structure, balance, conditioning, with muscularity

Please tell me about what else you are doing when you don’t work out (profession, hobbies, etc.) I do dog therapy as a volunteer at the hospital, like to go clubbing and dance with friends

Please note:

Christine does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!!
