Some Info about HEATHRE:

Where and when were you born? I was born on July 31, 1973 in Wilson, NC but I was raised in Selma, NC. I lived there all of my life until I left for college in 1991. It was then I moved to Greenville, NC to attend East Carolina University. While there I obtained my BS in Biology and went back later on to receive a degree in Nursing.

What is your profession? I am currently working as a registered nurse on a cardiac unit.

Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding/figure and how did you get started with weight training? I played around in sports and cheerleading in elementary but not in high school. Once in college, friends urged me to compete in Hawaiian Tropic contests and that is when I hired my first personal trainer.

Was it a goal for you to compete in figure competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? When I was younger I enjoyed watching fitness and bodybuilding competitions, but I never really thought I would someday be one of the females up on stage. Once I got serious about weight training, people started telling me I needed to compete. Three years ago I stepped on stage for the first time and I have been hooked eversince.

Can you give me your competition history? In May 2004, I competed in the Gold's Gym Classic in Wilmington, NC and took 2nd place. Later that month I competed in the North Carolina State show placing 3rd and qualifying for Nationals. I decided to sit out the remainder of that year to improve my physique. In August 2005, I stepped on the Team Universe stage in NYC, NY. This list will grow in 2006!

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? Team Universe was probably the most meaningful show so far. It was an honor to be on stage with so many beautiful Nationally ranked women.

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.) I am currently weight training 4 times weekly. My split: delts, legs, back/rear delts, and finally bi's/chest. My triceps are taking a break while the rest catches up. I do NO cardio in the offseason. Right now I am in prep so I am doing cardio 6 days a week. The frequency will increase as showtime draws closer.

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? I love using cross cables for bicep curls. I also have a love/hate relationship with squats. My least favorite exercise has to be calves or chest exercises -- they're just boring!

Which body part is your best in your opinion? I'd have to say my legs are my best bodypart.

What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'? The best part about training for competition is watching my body change. It keeps me focused. During the off-season I enjoy not having to be quite as strict with my eating and schedule. It's also nice not to have to worry about cardio.

Please describe a typical day in the life of Heathre Foster. Yawn! Boring is a good way to describe a typical day in my life! If I am working then it is basically: wake up, shower, eat, go to work and RUN for 12 hours, come back home, shower, eat and bed. If I am off it looks like this: wake up and eat, shower, answer e-mails, train, back home to answer e-mails and browse my favorite fitness forums, eat and back to bed. See? Nothing special!

Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.) My favorite thing to do is shop! Typical girl. If I just want to relax I light some candles and play tunes off my computer.

What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? The best thing about this lifestyle is the confidence it gives me. I love making it into the gym each day and pushing myself.

Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear. Most people would be surprised to know that in high school and most of college I was anorexic. Until a few years ago I never weighed more than 120 pounds. Now I would freak out if the scale were to drop that low! I am so glad I overcame that mindset.

What are your competition goals or personal future goals? Competition goals for the future.... Pro Card baby! Isn't that what we all want? Seriously, I plan to make 2006 my best year yet. Regardless of placing, I just want to be sure I take MY best body to the stage. As far as future personal goals, I would like to shift my career path to something more fitness related. As much as I enjoy being an RN and helping people, fitness is my passion and I'd like to earn a living doing it or helping others achieve their goals.

Please note:

Heathre does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!!
