| Stacy German So. Florida, USA About Me............ Hi, I am 44 and a single mom of a beautiful 9 year old girl Reed. Here is a bit about me, my training and my thoughts about training.......... Growing up I was always athletic and had been a competitive ice skater for many years, I guess sort of a tomboy............It was funny how I started all of this, an old high school friend had gotten in touch with me after 24 years and said, you still have your muscles? You see at 16, I had some biceps............ We talked and he had told me he had always rememberd my biceps from skating, [I showed him them in a dare] and that was it!!! He knew I was not happy with my appearance because of gaining weight, and said, "if you lifted can you imagine"? He told me that muscle never forgets and he was so right! At the age of 42 it was like magic, the muscle came as fast as I could get to the gym and I could feel people looking at me as I was lifting. At first It was a bit weird, but I soon started to enjoy the comments and stares. I could feel my sleeves getting tighter on my shirts, the veins in my forearms constantly sticking out and I was hooked! People would stare at my forearms and biceps as I trained, a few of the guys just freaked out as I started to use the same weights as they were. I am now using 40 lb dumbbells for concentration curls, 60 lb for tricep extensions and 180 lb for seated cable rows. I've been doing dips for awhile using 90 lbs of weight in my lap. Because I was a skater my legs are very strong, how about 320 for reps on the calf machine, 240 lbs squats and about 400 lbs on the leg press machine, and this is only after 2yrs of training! My training goal is to lift real heavy and create the best biceps anywhere and after seeing my arm reach 15+ inches in less then 2 years, I know I can do it! I recently had an opportunity to LIFT my friend Ronnie, the person that got me started, [from a lieing down position, with my arms around his waist] and he freaked out!! I loved it and plan to get even stronger. The guys at the gym have been very supportinve and helpful but recently got a little upset when I started doing my dips with 90 lbs of weight in my lap, they said my triceps are getting bigger then theirs and I need to stop! I am currently training 6 days a week and doing cardio, well riding my bike at least 3 days a week. It's not for everyone but it works for me and my body type. This is still new to me for me and I have to say I truly appreciate all the kind letters and thoughts, it just makes me train harder so I hope very soon you might see 16 inch biceps! |
